food crops. The campus will be

ideally located to oer a

comprehensive ranges of

agricultural and animal industry

related courses.

COTTAGE INDUSTRIES

“An industry where the creation of products and services is home-based, rather than factory-based. Products and services created by cottage industry are often unique and distinctive, given the fact that they are usually not mass-produced."

The promotion of ‘cottage industries’ within Burringbar will aid the area in becoming a gathering place or ‘go-to destination’ for visitors, residents and local communities, to buy and trade quality local goods and services. Boutique/cottage style businesses and services will include:

  • Gourmet cafes/restaurants

  • Bakery/patisseries

  • Butcher

  • Cooking classes (using locally sourced produced)

These activities can further stimulate the introduction of farmers markets within the central street of Burringbar and therefore, encourage the local economy to thrive. The importance of wholefoods to the village will add value to the image and reputations of Burringbar. This will also be encouraged by the proposal of the old railway line and its role in the village’s agricultural status.
