Who is the Working Group? (Village Plan Advisory Committee VPAC)

Made up of a group of members working under the auspice of the Burringbar Community Association Inc.

We have convened in order to initiate a Tweed Shire Council approved Village Plan for Burringbar. We wish to take advantage of a fantastic platform to develop a cohesive direction and method of support for our township – to direct collectively where we want our village to go over the next decades.

Our aim is to provide a general forum for interraction between Tweed Shire Council and Burringbar Community,  for the delivery of feedback forms and to collate information provided by community members in a format that can be used to create a Village Plan.

What is a Village Plan?

The aim of a Village Plan is to establish a comprehensive planning framework that provides strategies, desired future outcomes and legal policy provisions addressing the most prominent issues affecting Burringbar, including: Urban Design (how our town looks and functions); Land Use Planning (how land is and will be used in the future including rural and residential land) and public spaces, traffic Management, community infrastructure and much more.

What does a Village Plan mean for Burringbar?

This village plan will become a primary reference document for almost all future initiatives, deveolmemt and actvitiy in town. The controls contained within this plan aim to deliver the guidance for decision making as defined  by the objectives we collectively decide are important. this means we really do as a community
